It may be fate or random chance but I am thankful that I bought a ticket for the Power of Dance 2006, auditioned for a part the next year, and the rest is history.
I've been with the Jade Millington Performers (JMPs) for 3 years now and loving every second of it!
Before this, I'd never had any dance experience in my life, but now dancing IS my life.
Being given a once in a lifetime opportunities to participate in numerous massive events, performances and shows is a blast, but what I believe makes being a JMP extra special are the JMPs themselves.
The JMPs are an assortment of dancers of various ages, sizes and backgrounds, but are like-minded individuals, who are extremely passionate about our dance, our shows and each other.
For me, being on stage performing gives one of the most amazing sensations ever, but nothing beats the wonderfully moving feeling of seeing each and every performer in our dance family grow as dancers and as people!
We owe it all to our strict but kind dance mama Jade for creating such a caring atmosphere that encourages hard work, dedication and individuality, for us to find and express ourselves; that is what dance is all about.
Jade inspires us all and is inspired by all around her too.
Thank you for keeping our dreams alive, on and off stage. This potent magical combination has made the JMPs stronger and more focused than ever towards all our endeavors, may it be shows, performances, or competitions, while still having loads of fun! However, be warned, being part of the JMP crew is very addictive; I cannot explain why... it is simply just JMP magic! :)

Hi,
My name is Chloe and I am 14 years old. I have been dancing with the JMPs for at least 10 months. Everybody makes you feel welcome and it is such a friendly atmosphere.
Jade is a very passionate dance teacher and no dance is the same but they are all performed with as much energy and concentration. What makes our dance group different to others is that everybody gets along even though everybody has a different personality and nobody has an overpowering attitude.
I am 21 years old and study Sports Science at Solent University. Since living in Southampton I have started dancing with the JMPs.
Before I started dancing with Jade I loved dance but had no experience, so I would just go to clubs and dance the night away clearly expressing my love of dance with people constantly asking 'are you a dancer ?' and me wanting to reply yes! With the need to dance becoming SO great I finally decided after seeing the JMPs perform in West Quay and checking out the website that they were a group who I would like to dance with.
I had wanted to dance for ages but had never had the confidence to go to a class, I was hooked after my first class with Jade and am now full dance addict, doing as many classes possible, I cannot get enough!
I have now been dancing with Jade for just over 1 year, and feel I have already achieved so much with no previous dance experience I have been given so many opportunities, which I am very grateful for. I have danced at the Nuffield Theatre (my first show!!!), at West Quay Shopping Centre, Rhino Night Club, and many other charity events at schools etc, allowing me not only to improve my dance but performance and confidence. I put this down to Jade's passion as a dancer and a teacher, with a great love of dance wanting to help others experience something she feels so strongly about.
The JMPs are a very welcoming group of people all of different ages and abilities, that all dance for different reasons - fitness, social, for fun or to fulfil ambitions. Jade concentrates on everyone allowing each individual the opportunity to progress as a person and as a dancer, helping them to be the best dancer they can be.
I still have a long way to go with my dance, and have high ambitions, but I know with Jade and the JMPs there are no limits. I am so excited for 2010 and what dance could bring to mine and others lives, the possibilities are endless!! WOOO!!

I have been dancing with the JMPs for just under 2 years now and absolutely love it!!
By coming to the classes, I have gained so much confidence and therefore been able to do an amazing show at the Nuffield Theatre and various outside displays including West Quay on a busy Saturday afternoon!
Everybody was really friendly when I first started which helped a lot as it can be daunting starting something for the first time when you don't know anybody. But now, we are all friends which makes everything much more enjoyable.
The routines we learn are such a variety in style which makes the classes fun to attend.
All in all being a JMP is an amazing group which I am so happy to be a part of.

My name is Sarah and I have been dancing with Jade for nearly 3 years.
Over the last 3 years Jade has built my confidence up. Jade's lessons make me feel very happy and on top of the world!!
Jade's choreography is amazing and I thoroughly enjoy the lessons, displays and especially the shows!
The past 3 years has gone sooo fast and I have so much fun.
Jade is the only dance teacher that gives you the opportunity to perform on the Mayflower, Guildhall and Nuffield theatre at least once a year. Jade is not only a dance teacher she is a friend, a confidante and a very special lady, she not only helps with teaching us to dance she also encourages her pupils in their school/college/uni work.
The JMPs are more like one big family, they are all amazing people and I couldn't ask for better people to be in my life.
Hey i'm Katy and i've been dancing with the JMPs for 3 years.
I first saw them performing outside the Bargate. This inspired me to see people of different ages and sizes dancing together and doing exciting routines. While i have been with the group i have gained lots of confidence and my fitness has improved.
Everyone in the group gets along really well and i have made some great friends.
Hi,
my name is Kim and I am 51 years old. I have been doing the adult class with Jade for a few months now and what can I say, wow, what a class! We are training to keep fit whilst learning dance routines - what more can you ask for on a Sunday!!
Being a parent to one of the JMPs I have many friends within the group and we all have great fun - if you think it can't be done, come and have a look at what we get up to!!
My name is Troy and I've been with Jade and the JMPs about a year now. I'm one of the oldest at 34 but wouldn't change it for the world. I love the dancing styles that we do its just not 1 set style. Since being here i have made some really great friends, no i take that back - Jade & the JMPs are like family to me and always will be and for that i wish to say thank you very much Jade & all you JMPs
It takes time to get every little thing perfect, it takes determination to hit it as hard as we do. It doesnt just happen - you have to work for everything but above all you need a leader who will do everything and anything to make it happen. And how lucky we are to have Jade Millington! The JMPs are completely different people who come together because we have one thing in common.... we love to dance !! xxxx Amy
JMP is just like a big happy family because we support and help each other. Even thought I only joined JMP a few months ago, I've noticed that it's changed my life by helping me move more, making me stretch different muscles that I never stretched before, giving me the confidence to speak out and to make new friends.
When I first joined JMP, I was like a fish out of water. I couldn't keep up with the choreography and I found it hard to stretch some of my muscles because I was so unfit. However the JMP crew made me feel secure and safe, and I'm having a wonderful time and looking forward to a long and eventful future with JMP.

I have been dancing with Jade for just over 1 year and it has given me so much confidence, I now feel like I can achieve anything that I put my mind to. I have so far danced in 1 show with Jade which was at the Nuffield Theatre in Southampton. I loved every minute of it.
Since dancing with Jade I have not only met some amazing people, I have made some great new friends and I have lost a lot of weight. The amazing thing about the JMPs that makes it so different than any other dance school is that we are more like a family than a dance group, we all make each other so welcome and we have a laugh together.
I love every minute of being at Jade's and I don't intend to leave any time in the near future, I have a feeling I will be hanging around for a while.
love Charlotte a.k.a charlie
My daughter loved JMP from the minute she walked in the door. Jade is so inspriring, and the more experienced dancers really look out for the younger ones. It's a great atmosphere - I am tempted to join myself!
